Year-Long Programs

The Florence Melton Mini School for Jewish Studies:
High-level (no previous background required) Jewish studies for adults, taught in an open and informal style that encourages dialogue by passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic educators. The Melton mini-school, 30 two-hour sessions of Jewish conversations, has become the gold standard of informal learning all over the world. The two-year weekly course is comprised of units in the Jewish calendar, history, values and concepts. You will be inspired, amazed and touched by the depth and breadth of the Jewish experience- an invitation to powerful and transformative experience, not to be missed!

Tuition of the Melton program, which is run out of the JCC of Metrowest, is $650.00/year (about 10 dollars per session). Scholarships are available.

The Chai Mitzvah Program
Take the Chai Challenge and grow your Judaism! Unlock the secrets of living Judaism. For Jews of all ages and backgrounds- Combining learning, experiencing and giving back, the Chai Mitzvah program is inspiring Jews in shuls and community centers across the country. The Mishna says “Don’t say, when I have time, I’ll study.” Discover the treasures of your heritage and the difference they can make in your life! The program meets nine times over the course of the year.

Tuition for the Chai MItzvah program, which is run out of the JCC of West Hartford, is only $18.00 for all nine sessions, as well as all materials.
