Adath Shalom is continuing our interest in being an inclusive community with access for all people in all that we do at our Synagogue and beyond. As part of this commitment, we are again planning several events during the month of February, officially named "Jewish Disabilities Awareness Month". Our Shabbat Shalem service will be held on Friday, February 21, and will include a theme to help all of us better understand the importance of inclusion in all we do at Adath Shalom as well as within the greater community.
We are also looking for people interested in helping on a Synagogue Inclusion Committee whose role will be to determine and fulfill the needs of our members in this regard. We are excited to be working toward getting Adath Shalom ABLE (Access –Belonging – Life – Enrichment) Awarded! This process started several years ago and the Synagogue is proud to have already been awarded two Metrowest ABLE Synagogue Challenge Grants! We are planning to do most of our work by phone and email and welcome your input, ideas, and participation. We are also putting together a list of people who might need additional assistance in any way.
Please contact Deborah at Deborahkb@gmail.com if you would like to be included on the list, can help or have any ideas.
Adath Shalom works closely with MetroWest ABLE to insure that our community is inclusive to all members. For a complete listing of community wide events visit http://metrowestable.org
